We are delighted to announce our 2011 Page Personnel Executive Assistant of the Year – Jenny Sharrock.
Jenny currently supports the Executive Manager of People Operations at Qantas who has a direct team of 85 reports that support eight Qantas business units and over 24,000 employees. In addition to receiving a high number of Facebook votes, Jenny provided us with a brilliant submission with specific examples of how she has gone above and beyond in her role this year. Jenny’s application was supported by an outstanding reference from her Executive Manager outlining further scenarios where Jenny’s performance in 2011 has been fantastic.
One of Jenny’s greatest achievements this year is the work she has done through the Qantas Contingency Program, for which she volunteered. Being part of this program means Jenny is called upon to provide a range of duties outside the scope of her role in heightened times of operational business need. This included Jenny performing 4.00am shifts as a baggage handler and supporting an international staff member who was taken seriously ill while in Australia.
Jenny also coordinated and managed the ten-week Qantas intern program as well as hosting a visit for students from a major American university. Jenny has organised team building events, coordinated major projects effectively and been able to provide her manager with a true understanding of the pulse of the department.

We would like to thank all of our applicants for their submissions; some of the examples shared truly inspired us and reinforced what a diverse and critical role the Executive Assistant plays.
